Local Guide
Drakelow, Derbyshire
Where it is, what’s here, and what’s happening
Drakelow sits on the Derbyshire bank of the River Trent, just across from Burton-on-Trent. Once best known for its power station, it’s now one of the area’s fastest-growing communities, with major new housing alongside country park and riverside.
[Add a short paragraph on Drakelow’s location — which side of the Trent, how it relates to Burton, Stapenhill, Walton and the A38.]
[Add the history — the power station and its cooling towers, the wildlife reserve, how the area has changed.]
[Summarise the new housing development — roughly how many homes, who’s building, what community facilities are planned.]
[Buses, roads, the A38, cycling and walking routes. Link through to the Travel page.]
[Drakelow Nature Reserve, the country park, nearby days out. Link through to the relevant Hub sections.]
